Two people were killed and at least eight others were missing when a wildfire ignited in an apartment complex on a Colorado riverhead complex Wednesday, authorities said.
The fire broke out at the Riverhead Building Supply in the 4500 block of North High Street about 11 a.m.
The blaze destroyed the building, fire officials said.
It was not immediately known whether the blaze was under control.
It was not clear what caused the blaze.
The Colorado Department of Public Safety said the building was evacuated due to smoke and water damage.
A man was rescued from the building.
The building is owned by the Colorado Riverkeeper Alliance.
Fire officials said the blaze destroyed more than 20,000 acres and caused $6 million in damages.
They said there are no immediate plans to make a fire mitigation assessment.
