The FBI on Thursday said it has not yet determined the motive for the attack.
In a statement, the FBI said that a suspect identified as Garen Singh was captured in the Washington area.
The agency said he is a U.S. citizen of Indian descent and was killed by law enforcement.
“We are currently conducting a joint investigation with local authorities,” the statement said.
